Testing is carried out for a number of reasons, not only to identify and rectify a fault, but also to assess the safety of a premise i.e. at the end of a tenancy; or to assess the useage of electricity in an area to assist in energy efficiency and energy saving.
Although these are not legal requirements, they are recommended the BS7671 to ensure due diligence and safety to others.
